A big well done to Noah who brought in a painting he created at home, with help from his Grandad. He has been inspired by our topic ‘The Potters Tea Party’.  Noah’s painting is of Middleport.

This afternoon as part of our Geography topic Year 1 went on a walk around wonderful Werrington.  As all of the children were well behaved, we stopped for a quick play on the park.  We all really enjoyed ourselves but were tired after.

Last Wednesday Year 1 had a fantastic trip to The World of Wedgwood.

While we were there the children designed their own plates.

Miss Stokes and Miss Dimmock have been to collect the plates today. The plates looks great!

Well done to all of the children for their creative designs.

Here are a couple of examples:

Well done Erin 1RD and Lily-May 1HS

World Book Day02-03-2017 | 16:16:08 | No Comments

Year 1 celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite book characters.

This afternoon we went on a hunt around school to look for Where’s Wally, making a list of all the places he was hiding.

Then we completed a quiz, matching each teacher to their favourite children’s book.

We also looked at everybody’s fantastic book boxes they made at home, and enjoyed guessing each story from the clues.

Don’t forget to use your book token to buy a new book you will enjoy. You may even find your inspiration for next year’s costume!

Our fantastic trip to World of Wedgwood01-03-2017 | 17:54:02 | 1 Comment

Today Year 1 went to World of Wedgwood and had a brilliant time.  We all went on a factory tour, museum tour and then designed a plate.

The children were each given one of these to take home, these will be handed out tomorrow. Plates to follow once they have been made at the factory.
